Autumn Grand Prix Rules

The Grand Prix is open to all Club members (Senior & Junior)

The Grand Prix will last for 15 weeks (Saturday 14th August 2021 – Sunday 21st November 2021)

1 counting run per runner per week.

There is no need to register, simply send details of the parkrun ran to Abbeywintergrandprix@gmail.com by Tuesday lunchtime of the following week.

Updated tables will be posted here on the Abbey Runners website weekly. If you do not want your name visible in these published tables, please let me know when you submit your 1st time.

For the Grand Prix you need to run a minimum of 6 (Senoirs, Juniors > year 6) or 4 (Juniors =< year 6) different parkrun courses, from any Senior or Junior Parkrun worldwide.

The Grand Prix will then be based on your 8 best scoring runs, independent of the course they have been ran on.

Points will be awarded for each run based on the winning time and your published finishing time.

Points in the OPEN table are calculated by dividing the winning time by your time and multiplying by 100.

To calculate the AGE GRADED points, your Open points are divided by your Age Grade Factor.

The Age Grade Factor adjusts the points to reflect the different ages of the runners. We are using the Age Grade Factors from the updated 2020 Age Grading tables at https://github.com/AlanLyttonJones/Age-Grade-Tables

There are an additional 50 bonus points on offer for completing the Grand Prix (a minimum of 8 runs on 6 (4) courses).

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • 1st Female – Open Age
  • 1st Female – Age Graded
  • 1st Female – > Year 6
  • 1st Female – =< Year 6
  • 1st Male – Open Age
  • 1st Male – Age Graded
  • 1st Male – > Year 6
  • 1st Male – =< Year 6
  • Most Improved Abbey
  • Best Fancy Dress
  • Most Exotic Location

As we will be running in public spaces, please be considerate to the park and other park users at all times.

If meeting as a group, please follow any current local guidelines for social distancing and numbers.

Do not run if you are displaying any Covid symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate.
