Points Calculations for the Abbey Fell League

Points are calculated from the position in the race as a percentage of the starters. This is then substracted from 100 to give the final points. This means that the higher the position you come the more points you get. If you come first out of 250 then you would get 99.6 points. i.e. 1/250*100-100 expressed as a positive number rather than negative. If you come 240th 240/250*100-100 = 4 points. The total points for the 6 counters will go towards the final reckoning, prizes will be awarded for each of the categories. M,F,MV40, F35 etcas recognised by FRA  as long as points for 6 races are presented. If you are the only one in your category then doing all six will guarantee you a prize, if you only do 4 or 5 then you will come first in your category but no prize. This is to avoid runners in sparsely populated categories winning a prize having done only one race
