Packing for Anglesey
Last weekend was tough; but I think we’ve recovered. I went out with the club on Tuesday and managed a decent run, though I was slowing the guys down at the end. Thanks to Jim and David for keeping me going the final mile back to the club – gave me good confidence afterwards as I was still tired from the weekend.
Current physical status is:
1. Left Foot aches
2. Lower back aches
4. Small hole in hand from stabbing myself with a fork
Alison who is normally super organised has regressed to a teenager and decided to pile together all her kit in the middle of the floor. It seems to be her new pre-weekend race ritual. I have started folding stuff up. This role reversal is messing with my head.
Anyway; I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t capture much of the weekend last week with my GoPro and having thought about it have a plan which should allow me to capture the race without having to swap the battery or fiddle switching it on or off and reduce the risk of demonstrating my face planting skills once again. Rather then trying to take a few short videos through the run; I’m going to try and put together a timelapse video of the race – these are basically thousands of stills taken every couple of seconds which can be compiled into a 2-3 minute video of the entire race. I really hope I push the right button to start with…
Ali and I will be running together – though I may ask her to carry the camera and sprint ahead the last 5 miles if it looks like the battery is getting a bit low.
Anyway both of us seem in good shape; Ali is going to get the Physio to strap her foot up again as it seemed to have helped last week.
We’re going for a quick swim in the morning to loosen up a bit and then once Ali is back from work we’ll head off assuming that the car is back from the garage and I manage to avoid cutlery…
Hooray – the car is back so we should be good to go.
I’ll let you know how we get on early next week.
