Good news from the West Yorkshire XC race yesterday – we managed to field a full men’s team! No official results out yet, but we had a full complement of six runners finish, led home in his usual speedy fashion by Matt Hallam, followed by Stefan Skirmshire, Robin Owen, Kirk Haddon, myself and John Ward. Helen Nurse represented the ladies in their race and Ben Nurse also ran in his age-group race.
Once again, these races proved to be a useful training race – a hard, undulating run in a good field to really test yourself. Although not quite as fun as the Peco XC course at Bramley Fall, Beecroft Hill proved a relatively challenging course around the park, with a stiff, short climb to start with and a few other undulations towards the back end of each lap, and slippy in the mud in a few places!
Let’s hope we can field a full team at the next race – it’s the 17th Nov (same day as the Dash), but it is nice and local – on West Park Playing Fields at the back of Beckett’s Park.
